I was looking through old drawings today out found this. It was one of my final images from my art foundation FMP. My project was titled ‘Drawn to the Sea: A Human Adaptation Towards a Life Aquatic’.
I feel that the idea of being drawn to the sea is one which many people explore. Why does it fascinate us so? For me, I feel that my fascinating is induced by the fact that the sea is something I don’t think we will every really understand. Compared to the sea, we are so very, very small.
To quote JFK ‘We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea – whether it is to sail or to watch it – we are going back from whence we came’
